When it comes to women's and girls' land rights, many men are beginning to understand that things are changing, and that there's no more going back. But are women satisfied with these changes?

Exchanging ideas with the councils of notables and other conflict management structures at the local level on their daily tasks, sharing the situation of land and community conflicts managed during the first half of this year, sharing communications on gender sensitivity and the prevention of exploitation, These were the main objectives of the workshops held from June 26 to june 30, 2023, in the five communes that constitute the « PRCF » (Prevention and Resolution of Land Conflicts) project intervention zone, namely Gatara, Matongo, Ngozi, Ruhororo and Tangara, as well as the six courts of residence operating in these very communes.

OF THE LAND CERTIFICATION COMPONENT OF THE PRRPB PROGRAM: TECHNOLOGY AT THE SERVICE OF LAND RIGHTS

On Thursday March 23, 2023, the Burundi Landscape Restoration and Resilience Project (PRRPB) organized a workshop to present the achievements of the "Land Certification" sub-component activities implemented on 26 localities or « collines » (12 in Buhinyuza, 10 in Isare and 4 in Matongo) of the 31 hills making up the project's intervention zone. These activities were carried out with the technical support of Groupement IGNFI-GEOFIT-LADEC, a consortium of three companies, one Burundian (LADEC) and two French (IGNFI and GEOFIT). FARMING DURING THE DRY SEASON IN BURUNDI, WHAT COULD MAKE IT A SUCCESS TODAY

Questions that have been asked with regards to how possible this would be, include that, without rain, it is hadly possible to work on the farm. I am sure so many other questions could have been asked especially with regard to the fact that a lot of Burundians have become much more, but wrongly accustomed to a theoretical culture that people don’t farm on hill lands except when there is rain. (The population therefore practices agriculture in the marshes and valley only)

...THEY ALSO KNOW ABOUT IT AND ARE COMMITTED TO MAKING GOOD USE OF IT.

From May 10 to 12, 2023, a training workshop for lawyers from the Ngozi and Kayanza provinces was held at the Hôtel ACCOLADE in downtown Gitega.
