COUNCILS OF NOTABLES AND LOCAL COUNCILS: CONFLICT RESOLUTION- CHALLENGES IN COLLABORATION

Workshops were held in 5 communes in the project area, specifically Ruhororo, Ngozi, Tangara, Gatara and Matongo, to exchange ideas and identify challenges facing the project's partner structures. A total of 261 participants, including 51 women, took part in these exchanges.

LADEC's "Land Conflict Prevention and Resolution" project shares its experience on gender inclusion with a regional gender team from Swiss-funded projects.

LADEC, through experts from the Land Conflict Prevention and Resolution Project, attended a training workshop organized by the Swiss Cooperation Office in Burundi and the Great Lakes region. The workshop focused on gender inclusion in programs for the transformation of social gender norms. It was organized for gender experts and focal points of projects implemented by organizations funded by the Swiss Cooperation in Burundi and the Great Lakes Region. (Burundi, Rwanda and  Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo).

Team building and 2023 New year get-together at LADEC

From the 26 to the 27 of January 2023, LADEC organised in Bujumbura, at ‘Site touristique « La beauté du paysage »’, a framework for the exchange of 2023 wishes coupled with a self-assessment of its 2022 achievements while projecting itself into 2023. HANDING OVER OF LAND CERTIFICATES DURING A SUPERVISORY MISSION BY THE WORLD BANK AND ITS PARTNERS

On the occasion of a supervisory mission carried out in Matongo by the World Bank in Burundi on the 20th of February 2023 to visit various achievements by the Burundi Landscape Restoration and Resilience Project (PRRPB) under the Global Environment Facility (GEF), The Commune organised ceremonies to hand over the first land certificates produced at the end of the ‘Grouped Operations’ for Recognition (OGR) carried out by the IGNFI- GEOFIT- LADEC consortium in the localities of Bwisange, Mpemba, Nyakibingo and Matongo. Signed Certificates were distributed to the owners from these 4 ‘collines’ during these ceremonies.
